Gruffalo Trail

On Friday 23rd May, Year 1 will be visiting Wildbrook Community hub to take part in a Gruffalo Trail walk.  Children will take part in activities related to the story in the space of the community hub and this will take place from 9am - 11am.  The children will return to school in time for lunch.

The children will be walking to and from the event and will be accompanied by school staff.  As Friday is a PE day, children will already be in their PE kit.  We suggest that children have a suitable coat and if the weather is nice a hat would be advisable.

We are sure they will have a lovely adventure.

New Attendance Penalty Notice


First offence – the first time a penalty notice is issued. The amount will be £80 per parent, per child paid within 21 days. This increases to £160 per parent, per child if paid after day 21 until day 28th. Any non-payments of the Penalty Notice may be referred to the magistrate court.


Second offence – (within 3 years) – the second time a penalty notice is issued. The amount will be £160 per parent, per child paid within 28 days. Any non-payment of the Penalty Notice may be referred to the Magistrate Court.


Third offence and any further offences (within 3 years) – the third time and offence is committed. A Penalty Notice will not be issued and the case may be presented straight to the Magistrate Court under S444 of the Education Act (1996) or any other legal interventions considered. The magistrates court can order fines up to £2500 per parent, per child.
